Summary:

We are looking for a Human Performance Optimization (HPO) Program Coordinator (Strength & Conditioning Coach) to support a Human Performance Optimization Services contract. The objective of this contract is to provide support of the well-being of the military personnel of the 131st Rescue Squadron due to the high-risk position of their job. Designed for military personnel who are currently deployed, preparing for a deployment in a high-stress combat situation, and post-deployment reconstitution.

This position will be located in Moffett Air National Guard Base, Santa Clara County, California. Telework is authorized in accordance with the Squadron’s telecommute policies.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:                       **6 month-1 year Contract**

  • Program Coordinator
    • Shall provide analytics to indicate effectiveness across all program elements.
    • Manage the metrics related to unit injury trends in order to develop individualized plans of rehabilitation, outlining goals and the expected outcomes of the plans.
    • Research and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in human performance, well-being, and workplace productivity.
    • Design program structures, components, and interventions that address physical, mental, emotional, and social aspects of well-being.
    • Coordinate the rollout of human performance optimization initiatives, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to timelines.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate program components into existing processes, policies, and practices.
    • Monitor program progress, track key performance indicators, and regularly assess the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Strength and Conditioning
    • Designing and implementing comprehensive strength and conditioning programs that cater to the specific needs and goals of athletes and individuals seeking to improve their physical fitness.
    • Develop individualized and group strength and conditioning programs based on athletes' skill levels, fitness goals, and specific sports requirements.
    • Utilize your expertise in exercise science, physiology, and biomechanics to create balanced and effective training regimens.
    • Incorporate a variety of strength training, cardiovascular, and functional exercises to improve athletic performance, prevent injuries, and enhance overall fitness.
    • Conduct fitness assessments and performance tests to establish baseline measurements and track athletes' progress over time.
    • Regularly review and analyze data to adjust training programs and ensure continuous improvement.
    • Incorporate injury prevention strategies and corrective exercises into training programs to minimize the risk of injuries.
    • Collaborate with medical professionals and physical therapists to address any existing or potential issues.

 

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Shall be capable of coordinating strength/conditioning, physical therapy, and soft tissue program elements to achieve readiness goals as defined by the unit commander.
  • Strong understanding of human behavior, psychology, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Profound knowledge of exercise physiology, biomechanics, and the science behind strength and conditioning.
  • Strong understanding of periodization and program progression for different athletic goals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze and interpret program effectiveness metrics.
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and organizational levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with elite level athletes within the SOF community, Air Force Special Warfare (AFSPECWAR), National Collegiate Athletic Association, or professional sporting activities.
  • Shall be a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
  • Certification as a Sports Performance Coach through the United States of America Weightlifting Association (USAWA) is highly recommended.
  • Experience working with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) protected information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • First Aid and CPR certification
