Summary:

We are looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) & Injury Manager (Soft Tissue Specialist/CMT) to support a Human Performance Optimization Services contract. The objective of this contract is to provide support of the well-being of the military personnel of the 131st Rescue Squadron due to the high-risk position of their job. Designed for military personnel who are currently deployed, preparing for a deployment in high-stress combat situations and post-deployment reconstitution.

This position will be located in Moffett Air National Guard Base, Santa Clara County, California. Telework is authorized in accordance with the Squadron’s telecommute policies.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:                        **6 month-1 year Contract** 

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' medical histories and physical conditions to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Administer a variety of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to promote healing, improve mobility, and alleviate pain.
  • Monitor patients' progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document their outcomes accurately.
  • Educate patients on proper techniques for exercise, injury prevention, and post-treatment care.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs for athletes, employees, or other targeted groups.
  • Shall provide analytics to indicate effectiveness across all program elements.
  • Provide guidance on proper body mechanics, posture, and ergonomics to prevent future injuries and promote a healthy lifestyle.
  • Perform soft tissue techniques including massage, myofascial release, and manual therapy to address musculoskeletal issues and promote healing.
  • Will be responsible for direct patient care as well as treatment documentation.
  • In addition to corrective exercise instruction, The PT/CMT will employ manual therapy modalities, and various industry accepted treatment modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, Vaso pneumatic devices, etc.).

 

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to educate and motivate patients and employees.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement injury prevention programs.

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills for accurate record-keeping and documentation.

  • Current CPR certification and a commitment to maintaining professional credentials.

  • Proficiency in relevant software and technology for documentation and reporting.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and organizational levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Shall possess a master's or Doctorate degree in physical therapy from an accredited college or university with a CA State Physical Therapy License.
  • A board certification through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) as either an Orthopedic or Sports Clinical Specialist (O/SCS) is preferred.
  • Possess current Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certification.
  • Must be a Certified Physical Therapist through a nationally accredited program and hold a valid CA physical therapy license.
  • Must also have work experience in a sports/orthopedics setting.
  • Individuals shall possess a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) certification in soft tissue treatment techniques as part of unit rehabilitation, recovery, and fitness maintenance programming for injury prevention.
  • Shall maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be credentialed.
  • At least 3 - 5 years of work experience with collegiate/professional athletics or the SOF community.
  • Proven experience in injury prevention and management, ideally in a corporate or industrial setting.

Salary range for this position is: $110,000.00-$148,00.00 Annually.
