Summary:

We are looking for a Personal Computer Technician to support the USSOCOM Enterprise Wide Training and Exercise Program, which provides support through four main lines of effort: Joint Training System implementation, Joint SOF HQ battle staff training, training readiness reporting, and support to Joint National Training Capability (JNTC) and Geographic Combatant Command (GCC) exercises. 

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance to desktop computers, laptop computers, and computer peripherals.
  • The contractor will also provide support for data migration, software updates, user accounts, and maintaining appropriate security protocols.
  • Implement preventative maintenance routines to extend the lifespan and performance of personal computers.
  • Recommend hardware and software upgrades.
  • Create detailed reports and documentation as needed.

 

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proven experience as a PC technician or a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of personal computer hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Expert written and oral communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years of recent experience working as a PC Technician
  • Experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining desktop, laptop PCs and peripherals (e.g., printers, KVM Switchbox, monitors)
  • Experience in removing old equipment and performing data migration to new machines.
  • Experience in maintaining inventory of installed software and software licenses.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining inventory of user accounts.
  • Experience in Special Security Office policies to execute SCIF security procedures (e.g., Open, Close).
  • Current DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • A+ certification or other relevant technical certifications are a plus.
