Summary:

We are looking for an Exercise Designer to support the USSOCOM Enterprise Wide Training and Exercise Program, which provides support through four main lines of effort: Joint Training System implementation, Joint SOF HQ battle staff training, training readiness reporting, and support to Joint National Training Capability (JNTC) and Geographic Combatant Command (GCC) exercises. The Exercise Designers will support the planning and execution of exercises through exercise design and scenario scripting.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support the Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG) by interfacing with exercise directors and managing the Master Scenario Events List (MESL) and flow of injects to enable the achievement of all exercise objectives.
  • The contractor shall support exercise After Action Reviews (AAR) by conducting data collection during the exercise and by developing AAR reports. This process includes facilitating formal AARs, conducting less formal “hot washes”, and assimilation of conclusions into an overall Lessons Learned (LL) document for use by USSOCOM commands.
  • Post exercise, the contractor supports assessments to determine Measures of Performance and Measures of Effectiveness (MOP/MOE). MOP/MOE analysis is performed to examine the quality of instruction and training provided, quality of overall exercise design and execution, and how well exercise training objectives addressed readiness issues.
  • The contractor also supports development of Exercise Capability Reports and insight papers that specifically identify shortfalls and gaps, recommend exercise design improvements, characterize exercise effectiveness, and make unit or command DOTMLPF-P change recommendations to increase operational and strategic combat readiness.
