NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to physically climb out of the tramway cabin under the direction of the Director of Maintenance and Operations.
- Ability to physically rope evacuate passengers and self from cabin.
- Ability to read and interpret tramway schematics and lift blueprints, manuals, and warranty requirements.
- General knowledge of mechanics, electrical controls, hydraulics, wire-ropes, and preventative maintenance procedures of aerial lifts or tramways.
- Working knowledge/familiarity of tram operations systems.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
- Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a daily basis.
- Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to passengers those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Basic computer skills using Word, Excel, and E-mail.
- Good customer service skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical operating problems related to the facility and its equipment.
- Good working knowledge of common industry practices and considerations, maintenance and repair requirements and applicable building, ANSI, OSHA, NEC and health codes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skill)
- High school diploma or equivalent; and
- Formal training in electronics from a technical school, the military, or
- Through completion of an Associate’s Degree in Electronic Technology; and
- Current CPR/AED and first aid certificates; and
- Drug testing may be required or ability to obtain as soon as training is available.
- Current Rope access and/or Fall Protection certificate or ability to obtain as soon as training is available.
- Three (3) years job-related experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; and
- One (1) year of job-related experience; and
- Ability to successfully pass a background check; and
- Current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skill)
- Five (5) years of job-related experience.
- Journeyman electrical license.
- Thorough knowledge in electrical maintenance and installation in ski lifts and/or aerial tramways.
