Summary:

Goldbelt C6, LLC is seeking a Health Scientist II to provide program support, evaluation of technical expertise, and services for activities related to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Division of Diabetes Translation and the Translation, Health Education and Evaluation Branch mission.  

 

This is a remote position, but you MUST be within an hour commute to Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Under direction from CDC, leads the development of technical advice and assistance to national, state, and local health agencies and other partner organizations.
  • Leads the development of protocols for collaboration on programs/projects/studies and coordinates efforts, as appropriate, with other program staff, other CDC Centers, Institutes and Offices, other federal agencies, national, state, and local health agencies, and private and non-profit organizations, etc.
  • Synthesizes data into written documents and oral presentations.
  • In concert with CDC staff, communicate information to various audiences and prepares scientific and other articles and technical reports for publication and dissemination.
  • Makes presentations at national and international meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills & Knowledge:

  • Experience conducting a national assessment of a program or project’s inputs, activities, and outputs to determine its value or worth and to improve the program.
  • Experience creating a national evaluation plan and identifying evaluation questions and indicators.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative program data, interpreting the data in the program context, and reporting findings.
  • Experience developing a large-scale program logic model, identifying appropriate program outcomes, facilitating stakeholder meetings, and providing technical assistance or training on evaluation, methods, concepts, and tools.
  • Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, or related field. 5 – 7 years of experience in public health, health sciences research, and program evaluation.
  • Must have experience developing forms utilizing CDC Administrative Systems (HUMAN SUBJECTS, OMB AND IRB, and E-Clearance) efficiently and effectively.
  • Previous experience working with the government procedures and guidelines.
  • Minimum of five (5) or more years providing technical assistance to various levels of partners (state health departments, community-based organizations, etc.) related to developing evaluation and research plans, performance measurements, data collection and analyses, reporting, translation and dissemination of results through various dissemination channels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DrPH or Ph.D. in Public Health, Health Sciences, or related field.
  • Knowledge of project management systems and application of project management software.
  • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.

 

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000 per year.
