Summary:

The Research Statistician shall perform services in the US Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine. This position shall provide analytical and software support services. This position will provide analytical and software technology services in support of behavioral science research studies to evaluate the effects of the environmental and situational stressors on cognition, judgment, decision-making, and disabilities.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Will design, program, and export Shoot-Don't-Shoot, Marksmanship, and Collective scenario simulation experiment software files for the Cubic Systems, lnc.'s EST2000 technology in consultation with the Study Pl, for use in research (or 'Request to Test') studies.
  • Maintain the software which operates the EST2000 and its target capabilities and research participant performance data log, while ensuring all past study files are 100% compatible with the new system as long as the new system is operational and research requirements necessitate 100% file compatibility between the new and older systems.
  • Train identified USARIEM personnel to conduct design, programming, and exporting of EST2000 scenario simulation experiment software files and other required software processes.
  • Perform data analyses for research studies with the EST2000 technology using statistical software programs (such as Statistical, SPSS and/or SAS) at the request of the Study Principal Investigator (Pl) according to an a priori data analysis plan.
  • Prepare and submit written data analyses based on the results of EST2000 research (or 'Request to Test') studies.
  • Prepare tables and graphs in journal appropriate format for reports and manuscripts.
  • Collaborate with researchers to design and plan experiments or surveys that collect relevant data.
  • Determine appropriate statistical methodologies and sample sizes to achieve research objectives.
  • Stay up to date with the latest statistical methods and tools, recommending and implementing improvements to research methodologies.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong proficiency in statistical software and programming languages
  • Knowledge of experimental design and statistical sampling techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex statistical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with USARIEM's EST2000 research protocols, hardware, and system operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) or more years of experience.
  • Shall be a qualified research statistician with specific EST2000 system software technical skills. It is required that the contractor personnel have familiarity with USARIEM's EST2000 research protocols, hardware, and system operations.
  • A background check will be conducted.
  • Possess the ability to pass a NACI background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with data visualization tools.
  • Operator and/or Trainer experience 

Compensation:  $28.85-$47.33 Hourly.
