Overview

Goldbelt Hawk designs, develops, and implements comprehensive solutions for problem spaces, including computer security, scalable architectures, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and network/data center operations. Specializing in local and enterprise-level incident response and forensic analysis, Hawk's personnel deliver threat analysis and reporting while implementing solutions based on mature planning and development practices.

 

Summary:

Goldbelt Hawk has an immediate need for a Cybersecurity Engineer in support of a 1-year contract with the possibility of an extension. The work site is in downtown Washington, DC. 

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides subject matter expertise for cyber security and trusted system technology
  • Provides subject matter expertise for cyber security and trusted system technology in support of the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program
  • Applies advanced technical knowledge and analysis of specialized functional areas in task requirements to develop solutions to complex problems
  • Researches, writes, reviews, disposition feedback and finalizes recommendations regarding cyber security policy, security test and evaluation reports, and security engineering practices, processes, and technologies
  • Conducts research and assists with writing risk assessment reports to include risk thresholds, evaluation, and scoring Manages ECDM Governance Board Meetings
  • Manages ECDM Governance Board SharePoint site Reviews Max.gov site Updates FISMA Container files Reviews Max.gov site with edit privileges Monitors patching status via BigFIx Reviews/assists with reviews of Tenable Vulnerability scanning data and reports to the leadership
  • Applies advanced technical knowledge and analysis of specialized functional areas in task requirements to develop solutions to complex problems, including improving DHS Biding Operational Directive (BOD) and Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) compliance Researches, writes, reviews, disposition feedback and finalizes recommendations regarding cyber security policy, security test and evaluation reports, and security engineering practices and processes
  • Develops BOD reports, briefings, and memos Works on process improvement including automation of data ingestion and computations Develops BigFix, Splunk, and Tenable reports.
  • Uses Cybersecurity Asset Management (CSAM) 

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of cybersecurity processes and technologies 
  • Familiarity CSAM and Risk Management Framework (RMF)

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in subject matter area or closely related field with at least 8 years of related experience OR a master’s degree in a related field with 6 years of related experience or high school diploma/equivalent with at least 12 years of related and demonstrated work experience
  • Must be suitable for Public Trust clearance
  • 7 years of experience in a related field
  • 5 years of experience with BigFix, Splunk, and Tenable
  • Active Secret clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant IT (Information Technology)/Cybersecurity certifications (Security+, CCNA Security, CISSP, CISM, etc.) are a plus
  • TS/SCI Clearance
