Summary:


Apex is seeking an Instructional Design Specialist.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:



  • Develops curriculum plans including courseware, educational materials, and production schedules to support classroom and online training of complex health benefits

  • Conducts Community Relations Management System training, in person or virtually, for the user community, to include registration, conduct, evaluation, and reports at least twice per quarter

  • Analyzes training needs, current courses, and policy and benefit updates to review and refresh materials on a regular basis

  • Conducts audience analysis to determine topics for educational campaigns and implements industry best practices to educate customers

  • Provides subject matter expertise in responding to inquiries/requests and development of courseware, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness

  • Collecting and analyzing customer requests, project goals and responses to project/task-related questions

  • Course design and evaluation Assessing course products and deliverables

  • Preparing courses for distribution on a learning management system Plan, direct or coordinate the operations of the project team

  • Formulate team strategies, manage daily operations Plan, direct or coordinate the distribution of deliverables or services to the customer

  • Coordinate contract requirements with the project team, determine the preferences of customers and monitor the progress of the collaboration

  • Support quality assurance programs

  • Support quality control policies and procedures through adherence to quality standards

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:



  • Identify learning needs and objectives

  • Develop course content in accordance with industry best practices Leverage creative solutions to solve instructional or educational problems

  • Arrange and order learning objectives across the course curriculum

  • Consider the relative level of effort and benefits of potential actions to recommend the most appropriate one to accomplish the project task

  • Evaluate and monitor learner progress and feedback

  • Manage time to meet task milestones and deadlines Use course authoring software and methodologies to meet learning needs

  • Ensure style guide, policy, and 508 compliance of all instructional products Theories and concepts of Adult Learning Principles and processes for providing customer services, including needs assessment, meeting quality assurance standards, and resolving internal and external customer requests Principles and methods for instructing and promoting products or services Basic principles in design and human-computer interaction

  • Course authoring software available in the market

  • Administrative and clerical procedures in accordance with the company’s best practices Terms and concepts commonly expressed in the Armed Services and federal government

  • Microsoft Office familiarity Theories and concepts of Adult Learning Principles and processes for providing customer services, including needs assessment, meeting quality assurance standards, and resolving internal and external customer requests

  • Principles and methods for instructing and promoting products or services

  • Basic principles in design and human-computer interaction

  • Course authoring software available in the market

  • Administrative and clerical procedures in accordance with the company’s best practices Terms and concepts commonly expressed in the Armed Services and federal government Microsoft Office familiarity


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or related field with 5 or more years of experience

  • 3 - 5 years experience with instructional design or similar work

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Must be able to obtain a favorable background check


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master’s Degree in instructional design or related field and 3 or more years of experience
